Senior Project Engineer at Shell
Job Description
Drive the delivery of greenfield and/or brownfield projects
Ensure projects are delivered on time and budget during execution phase inclusive of design, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning
Manage contract(s) and work with contractors to resolve issues
Manage project contractor(s) design and construction teams and ensure work delivered in line with the contractual requirements
Have close hands-on involvement with day-to-day construction planning and execution
Function as TA2 for project engineering
Measure and initiate performance improvements for execution of projects
Provide leadership and support for project engineering in the Projects Department
Drive the application of Asset Integrity Process Safety Management applicable to Design Integrity
Ensure requirements for successful handover are met including OR&A deliverables
Drive continuous improvement in projects
Job Requirements
MSc, BSc, BEng in Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
A minimum 10 years' experience in facilities engineering, project engineering and construction.
Project management knowledge including planning, scheduling, physical progress monitoring, cost management and reporting.
Prior experience with brownfield facility projects is essential. Experience with sour gas facilities is a benefit.
Technical Skills; JCP profile as per JG 3 Project Engineer.
Demonstrable experience in Execution in combination with a broad exposure to all aspects of Project Engineering required.
Experience in engineering deliverable required for successful construction work planning and execution.
A mature approach and patience are required together with persistence and ability to create trust and authority beyond organizational seniority.
Experience of working in a non-Shell operated Joint Venture.
Experience working with reimbursable engineering service contracts.
High level of achievement and cooperative work ethic essential for success.
