Job Description
We are looking for a Ruby on Rails developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.
Responsibilities
· Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
· Design scalable and stable features.
· Work on all phases of the development lifecycle, including continuous integration, tests deployment, and refactoring.
· Integration of data storage solutions
· Integration of user-facing elements
· Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and advise solutions to these problems
· Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization
· Keep updated with the latest innovations and best practices in the industry.
Skills
Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries (Rails 5, Devise, ActAsTenant, ...)
Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
Good understanding of server-side templating languages (HAML)
Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors (SASS + Bootstrap)
Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful
A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes (PostgreSQL)
Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests (Minitest/Rspec)
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (GIT)
Familiarity with development aiding tools (Bundler, Rvm/Rbenv)
Familiarity with continuous integration and DevOps practices (GitLab, Capistrano, Ansible, Ubuntu)
Monthly compensation: Subject to Qualification.
Location: Giza, Egypt.
Working hours: from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with two breaks (8 hours net)
Days Off: Friday and Saturday.
